so last year I was nominated by so many lovely people for the best new business in skipton and beyond. When I got the call to say that I had made it through to the final and could I attend an awards ceremony - my first thought was - oh god what hair do I wear? ahhahaha. it was a very posh do, it was at the conniston hotel not far from us really. I picked myself a lovely new frock still undecided on the hair, it did cross my mind not to wear any hair. The day came and I had still not chosen my hair, I had 3 to choose from so on with the make up and frock, then I needed my husbands help as he is always very honest with me on how I look. So all 3 were tried on for him. the winning hair was chosen and off we set. it was amazing, from the moment we stepped into the conniston we were made to feel so special and so many people wanted to hear my story of how bigwigs came about. we enjoyed a superb 3 course dinner with a few glasses of wine all courtesy of stray FM. then the time was here what we had all been waiting for, I was so nervous at this point. A few categories were announced, then it was my category I felt sick with excitement, fear,embarrassment and nervous if I win I have to tell my story....
And the winner of the best new business is............. BIGWIGS, wow the room went mad people were clapping, whistling and cheering. I felt like I floated to the front to receive my award, I spoke for a few minutes which felt like an hour. then I was whisked away for some photographs. I really did feel like I had won an oscar or a bafta. I feel so honoured for everyone that voted for me, I had one of the best days.
